Prior to coming along to your initial consultation we will send you a food diary and pre-consultation questionnaire to complete.
You will return this to us before the appointment preferably at least 24 hours before. This gives us time to do a lot of the assessment component before your appointment. There will be additional information we need to discuss with you at the initial consultation but this saves time so we can start developing your dietary plan almost straight away.
During the initial consultation we collect some additional important information, discuss our assessment, your goals and then get on to developing a plan that will work for YOU (and your family)
If you have a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement (formerly known as EPC Plan) or Private Health Insurance rebates for consultations can be claimed on-the-spot at our clinic.
To develop a valuable, personalised plan that can be incorporated in to your lifestyle and family needs, we need around 48 hours after the initial consultation to develop it in its entirety. After all this will include a meal plan, recipes etc so a fair bit of work needs to be done.
Once we have sent you the plan we encourage you to have a thorough read, contact us if there is anything that you would like clarification on, and then get shopping (and eating)!
At your review consultation (approx. 4 weeks), we assess progress, make any necessary adjustments, provide some structured education on important areas of managing your condition and set some new short-term goals for the next review. Frequency and number of reviews varies depending on your individual needs. This is best discussed directly with the dietitian.

One of the skills we pride ourselves on and our patient’s credit us for is the capacity to take difficult concepts and convert them in to innovative yet simple, practical messages that are often referred to by patients as light bulb moments and firmly engrained in their memory. But we know, and evidence tells us, that at best a patient will walk out of a consultation with a healthcare practitioner retaining at best 30% of what was discussed. So our solution. In addition to making it hard for you to forget these important concepts through innovative messages, we provide clear, precise, directional plans which take out the guess work of eating for chronic disease management. As time progress and we build your toolbox of nutrition skills it becomes easier and easier to make additional wise decisions confidently due to the direction, unforgettable messages, and educational structure that we put in to place.
"I am constantly bloated but can’t work out what foods are causing the problem"
We have dual qualifications and experience as Food Scientists and Dietitians. This gives us the unique ability to accurately assess the composition of your food intake in great detail and cross reference this with your gastrointestinal symptoms. The good news is that most of the time the cause can be diagnosed and managed. Where additional investigations are required we can refer you to have these done. Or if we rule out diet as the cause and symptoms are still present we will direct you to the right specialists for further investigation.
